Cerro Castillo Village

It is the capital of Torres del Paine area. It has 300 inhabitants who mainly work in stock farming activities. The majority of its buildings are from the beginning of the century and they were part of the former Cerro Castillo Ranch, regarded as the vastest in the continental part of Magellan Region. Interesting sites: Cerro Castillo Cemetery, Santa Teresa Cave, Los Condores viewpoint.

Location: 59 Km away from Puerto Natales – Ruta Nº 9 Norte.

Cerro Castillo Cementry

Each of its tombstones reminds us of the first settlers of the region. They are a record of the courage and faith that these people had to settle down here in these remote lands.
This cemetery holds at least 18 tombstones of former area’s settlers.

It was appointed National Monument in 1972 and there are no formal records of people laying there, just the information provided by some locals.

Location: 75 Km north from Puerto Natales
