Dominating this zone meant also learning to dominate the sea, which was the only way to get there for people and food. Navy Museum
This is the starting point of the circuit. In this museum one can find paintings, pictures collections ,models and relics of national and foreign sailors that navigate the zone. It also gathers freat amount of naval and maritime instruments.

San Isidro Lighthouse
This lighthouse leaded the explorers and sailors on their pass through the Strait of Magellan and it still serves in navigation. In the beautiful landscape of San Isidro cape on the southern coast of Brunswick Peninsula it was built a lighthouse of great dimensions. Lighted in 1904 soon became the end station of the Chilean telex system.
How to get there: 70 kms. from Punta Arenas on route 9 plus 3 kms. walking .

Cordillera Steam Shipwreck
Steamer of the Steam British Company (PSNC) crashes the rocks of San Isidro on the 20th of september of 1884 it is 15mts deep on the sea.
Location: Sank in front of the lighthouse San Isidro 36 miles from Punta Arenas
Lonsdale and Pontones shipwreck..
Such casks are reachable from earth, the bows and rests of the cask of the sail boat Lonsdale are run aground on the bayside of the city, on the way out of Punta Arenas on the route 9.
How to get there: walking or driving on the bayside road (3 kms. approximately from the Main Square)
HMS Doterel
English boat sank in 1881 on the bay of Punta Arenas near the coast, due to an explosion.
Located: 15mts. deep and 300 mts. from the Arturo Prat deck.
Magdalena Island lighthouse
Declared National Historical Monument and Natural Monument due to the great diversity of Fauna. There it is the biggest penguin colony of Patagonia (144.000 couples) and you can also visit the old lighthouse built by the end of the 19th century and also it is a museum. This is the second highest lighthouse after Dungenes Lighthouse .
Location: Magdalena Island 35kms from Punta Arenas.

Primera Angostura Lighthouse and Museum.
It was the last lighthouse incorporated to assure the eastern access and way out of the Strait of Magellan. Opened on 15th of May of 1901, this permanently inhabited lighthouse makes operations as: weather register and Radio Communication. It also counts with a museum referred to the history of navigation and maritime signaling of the Strait , the history of lighthouses of the Strait , maps, pictures, old lighthouse equipment, etc…

Posesion Lighthouse
Located 8 kms. from Posesion village and built by the beginnings of the 20th century. Nowaday it is out of service for personnel. Location: 237 kms. north from Punta Arenas.
Punta Dungenes Lighthouse
In km 91 of the route Y 545 IT IS Dungenes Lighthouse which indicates the Eastern Continental Extreme of Chile , place that gathers the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the waters of the Strait of Magellan. The lighthouse accomplishes an important mission for navigation since the end of the 19th century.

Amadeo Steamboat Shipwreck
Ran aground the border of the Strait of Magellan in front of the Estancia San Gregorio. It was bought in Buenos Aires and built in England . Remained out of service only for bay use by the middle of 1927 and definitely stopped working in1932.

Ambassador Steamboat Shipwreck
Remains of a great ship used to move cattle during the greatest economical times of the Strait of Magellan. Built in London and disposed in 1869 (declared Historical Monument)

Olympian Steamboat Shipwreck
10 kms. from Posesion, by the shore of the strait, it is Olympian Steamboat.On the 13th of March of 1906 a strong storm defeated the Olympian and sent it to the bay. This was a very big ship peopulsed by steam and wheels.

Buque Quemado Area
This are is characterized by the shipwrecks occurred there, where people have found all kinds of tool from the past. There is also bird watching . In this place you can see 2 or 3 kms. of beach when there is a low tide which is an unusual fact.

Dinero Mount Monument
This small monument opened on 20th of November of 2002 was made to honor the discovery of Chile, on the southern territory that took place in 1521 according to the Regional Historian Mateo Martinic.
