This flight starts in Punta Arenas to Cape Horn, where it is possible to appreciate in all its magnitude the joint of islands that make up this National Park. As proof of the passing of man for such challenging place, it may be seen a monument built to commemorate the five-hundredth anniversary of the Discovery of America, erected by the Chilean section of the brotherhood of captains of the Cape Horn, the "CAPHORNIERS". The sculpture represents a flying albatross and was erected in memory of seamen from different nations who lost their lives fighting the inclemency of the Chilean sea.
The flight allows gazing a wonderful sight of Darwin mountain chain and Beagle Channel, named after the British vessel on which captain Robert Fitz Roy sailed in 1826 the southern territory baptizing channels and islands with his officer’s names.
